Puma Shoes
Description: Running Shoes
Origin: China
Content: Synthetic leather, Rubber, Poly/Cotton blend
Point of Purchase: Foot Locker
Overview: Shoes are of course not that sustainable at all. A lot of chemicals are used to create the synthetic leather, rubber and poly/cotton blend. And them being running shoes, the condition of the shoes will quickly go to bad. For some people, when shoes get worn, they throw them away. This adds to the pollution of the Earth which makes shoes even less sustainable. For me personally, I don't throw them out and continue to use them on days where I don't need to wear nice shoes out in public. With the production of the shoes being in China, the carbon footprint adds to the less sustainable quality of the shoes. Regardless, shoes are a necessity in life and will be a hard product to find an alternative. Personally, how I make wearing shoes more sustainable is I prefer wearing sandals year long. So I only wear shoes to the gym and on rainy days.
