Sustainability in the Fashion Industry
My marketing campaign is based on purely on online marketing. Being a company based on sustainability, I will my best to abstain from the use of promotional materials that require print publishing. So I will focus on marketing through online search engines, social media and popular sustainable apparel sites.

The online channels that I would target would be:

   - Yahoo!
   - Facebook
   - Twitter
   - EcoFashionWorld
   - Online Magazines such as New York Magazine, People and LA Times
   - Phone/tablet app

The reason why I've chosen these sites is because:

Yahoo! is the site that EVERYONE goes to and when you click the 'Shopping', there are many opportunities to place pop ads or animated ads. A high volume of people go to this site and our product would be able to reach a large amount of people statewide and even worldwide.

Facebook is what everyone is on today and which Facebook marketing, whenever a person types any keyword that matches whatever keywords we set up, our advertisements automatically pop up and are even 'recommended' to them. Not only advertisements, but a smart thing to do is to create our own Facebook page for people to visit. We could update this site daily and connect with our market fairly easy. Also our target market uses this site profusely so not only can we reach those that are interested in sustainable products, we could maybe reach those that are not informed in sustainability and get them excited about a new product.

Twitter is an excellent way to network around the world. You can message anyone and just get the message out to anyone. The use of #hashtags is an easy way to track sustainability tweets and reach those that are interested in sustainability products. This is also another social media site that our target market uses a lot.

EcoFashionWorld is the largest website that has a large list of retailers that practice sustainability. Being included on the list would be a big plus for us for it will attract more customers. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have one of our ads on the site as well.

Online Magazines would be a smart choice because print magazines are becoming less read and the online magazines and newspapers are the trend. I would target the huge magazines from Los Angeles and New York because that's where the high volume of readers are. I would also pice People online because it's a go to source to find out what's in fashion for those who really aren't well-informed of the fashion world.

Phone/tablet apps are very popular today. Regarding our target market, everyone has a smartphone, like an iPhone, and tablets are becoming more popular as well, such as the iPad. Providing apps that allows them to purchase directly from our site. You can also make little advertisements as well to pop out of the phone or be displayed while using an app.

Pop Up Ad/Email Blast Example

Picture
This would be an example of a pop up ad that would appear in Yahoo!
It's clean and simple so it doesn't overwhelm the reader and the message gets to the reader in under 15 seconds of reading. It states my company name, what it is, and emphasizes the size and importance of the company. I then try to tempt the reader to come shop at the site to get 20% off, but it's for first time customers only. Also, with the prices of clothing that are made of sustainable materials, customers will see that it would be real easy to accumulate $100 in just 2 products so they will want to shop and take advantage of the discount.

When you come to my site, you always have to register when you shop so your information will be stored. With that information, I will send monthly email blasts indicating of new products, deals and sales.

Regarding sustainability, I kept it simple stating that my apparel if made of environmentally friendly fabrics. This is a true statement because all of my tees will be made of rayon from bamboo. Bamboo is environmentally friendly in both in it's natural production and in it's conversion from a fiber to a yarn.

This is an example of a banner ad that would be placed in either Yahoo!, Online magazines and Facebook.
This would serve the same purpose as the ad above

Facebook Example

This would be a brief example of BAMbu's Facebook page. As you can see, you can do many things with it by announcing sales and discounts, showing pictures of new products that can catch people's attention and provide links to other sites that can educate people on sustainable resources. Also on the right are ads that I can put up myself.
